Not all hero’s wear capes
Just watched 6ish and 8ish year old brothers order a cookie cake for their mom’s birthday while she sat at the back of the shop out of earshot. It was precious to watch them labor over each of the dozen decisions. When they finished, they ran over to their mom who told them not to tell her anything and to let her be surprised tomorrow.
I don’t know why she’s here with them instead of their dad. But I know single parents are incredible. And not all heroes wear capes. Here’s to each one of you out there—making it work and letting your kids find ways to creatively and intentionally do kid/parent stuff even when its hard. Cheering you on and thanking God for you today.
